Style Group has helped create a flexible, light-filled meeting environment at the London headquarters of leading specialist reinsurance group, Chaucer. Working alongside Blue DPM and GR Interiors Ltd, Style installed a Dorma Hüppe Variflex Glass semi-automatic movable wall, delivering adaptable meeting space to support the changing needs of a modern office.

The movable wall allows the open-plan space to be reconfigured quickly to create individual meeting rooms while its glazed design preserves natural light throughout the office. The result is a bright, welcoming workspace without compromise on flexibility.

Chaucer’s Variflex Glass system benefits from semi-automatic operation, allowing the wall to be opened and closed with minimal effort. As each panel slides into position, rubber seals automatically expand to exactly the pressure required to deliver optimum acoustic performance.

A member of China Re Group, Chaucer works with brokers, coverholders and clients to protect businesses around the world. In 2021, the company relocated its headquarters to The Scalpel in the heart of London’s financial district, occupying 44,000 sq ft across three floors. After a successful movable wall installation at the time of the relocation, Style was recently invited back to provide additional space division.

The new glass Variflex wall gives staff greater flexibility to adapt the environment for meetings, presentations and informal group working. Combining clean aesthetics with smooth day-to-day operation, the installation provides a practical solution that is both functional and easy to use.

The glazed panels maximise the flow of natural light, while laminate melamine panels from Style Group’s standard range provide a complementary finish. Concealed silver anodised aluminium framing creates clean, understated detailing that integrates seamlessly with the contemporary interior.

The completed installation has been extremely well received, with Chaucer praising the ease of operation and the ability to reconfigure the space quickly to meet the demands of everyday use. www.style-group.co.uk
